NetLink Control provides the interface to NetLink Remote¬. It's menus provide access to all of the control functions and it has a status window that shows the state of the connection and the elapsed connect time. This file also provides the online help interface for NetLink Remote.
The file NetLink Contol is not a control panel file so it should no go in the Control Panels Folder, it is an application that you can run in the background to monitor the status of the link. Keep the file "NetLink Guide" in the same folder as the NetLink Control Application because you will not have access to the online help if it is not.
I would suggest that you create an alias for it and place it in the Apple Menu or on the Desktop, that way you can get at it much faster.
Using the Help File
To use the online help, you must have system 7.5 or later with AppleGuide installed. To use the NetLink Guide, run NetLink Control and select NetLink Guide from the help menu.
Bug Note
The time displayed by the NetLink control app is not obtained from NetLink Remote. This means that it performs it's own timing and if you quit this application it will reset the clock. There should not be any reason why you can't keep this program running in the background. It does not use very much memory or processor time. Also keep in mind that because it performs it's own timing, it can be off by as much as 5 seconds. I will fix this in the next release of NetLink Remote. Just don't E-mail it in as a bug because I know about it.
